4x98 Bolt Pattern Wheels for Classic Fiats

4x98 is the Fiat pattern. You will occasionally see it written 4x3.86", but that number comes from a conversion and no Fiat manual uses it. If you have a classic Fiat, this is almost certainly your pattern.

Cars on 4x98:

  • Fiat 124 Spider and Coupe
  • Fiat X1/9
  • Fiat 128
  • Fiat 131

Our 4x98 wheels are listed below. If you do not see your car on our site, call Alex at 866-855-3473. We fit more than we have written up.

Why not just use 4x100 wheels?

Because there are far more 4x100 wheels than 4x98 ones, Fiat owners are often told to fit 4x100 wheels with offset "wobble" bolts that make up the 2mm difference. They work, and plenty of cars run them. They are also one more thing to get right every time a wheel comes off.

A wheel drilled at 4x98 needs ordinary lug bolts. That is the whole point of these.

Hub-centric rings

Our 4x98 wheels are bored larger than the Fiat hub so they clear it on every car in the list. A hub-centric ring fills the gap and lets the hub, not the bolts, carry the wheel. Ask for the right ring size when you order.

Mid-engine and front-engine Fiats

The X1/9 is mid-engined, and the 124 Spider is front-engined with rear drive. They share a pattern but not a weight distribution or an arch shape, so the right width and offset are different. Tell us which car you have rather than ordering from the pattern alone.

Should I verify my bolt pattern before ordering?

Yes, always verify your bolt pattern before placing an order. Vintage and classic cars can have unique or uncommon bolt patterns, and specifications sometimes varied between model years or production runs. If you're ever unsure about your fitment, the team at VTO Wheels is happy to help. Reach out at sales@vtowheels.com or call 1 (866) 855-3473.
