Why Panasport shoppers end up with a Classic 8
Panasport is a respected name with vintage racers, and plenty of VTO customers had one on their shortlist. When we surveyed 237 VTO customers, 30 of them brought up Panasport by name. The reasons they gave for choosing VTO were price, the size they needed, and seeing a set on someone else’s car.

Panasport or Classic 8: what’s the difference?
What’s the same
The look. Both are eight-spoke wheels, and you’ll see both at car shows and vintage race meets, on everything from an MGB or Jensen-Healey to a Datsun 240Z or an early Miata. If the Panasport style is the one you picture on your car, the Classic 8 is VTO’s closest match.
The material. Each is a lightweight aluminum alloy wheel, so you get the period look without hunting down decades-old magnesium.
What’s different
It’s a VTO wheel. The Classic 8 is VTO’s own design, with its own name and VTO centre cap. It is not a Panasport, and VTO does not sell Panasport wheels.
It’s made to order. Bolt pattern, offset and hub bore are machined to your car, not chosen from a shortlist. That’s how VTO fits cars with bolt patterns that are hard to find elsewhere.

Panasport-style wheels: common questions
Is the Classic 8 a Panasport wheel?
No. VTO Wheels is not affiliated with Panasport and does not sell Panasport wheels. The Classic 8 is VTO’s own eight-spoke design. Owners who want the Panasport look often choose it because the style is so close, but it is its own wheel.
Panasport style or minilite style?
Plenty of people use the two names interchangeably for eight-spoke wheels. Others have a clear favorite: one VTO customer went shopping for Panasports because they “like the look better than Minilites.” Either way, the Classic 8 is VTO’s closest match. Can I get 13-inch Panasport-style wheels?
Yes. The Classic 8 comes in 13″ × 6″ and 13″ × 7″, as well as 14″ through 17″ sizes.
Will a Panasport-style wheel fit my car?
If the bolt pattern and offset are right, yes, and that is the part VTO machines to order. Use the vehicle finder at the top of this page, or open your car’s fitment page above. If your car has an unusual pattern, call Alex and he’ll tell you what VTO can make.
